What is a Physiotherapist? |

Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat conditions caused by faulty movement patterns and aberrant biomechanics.
Faulty movement patterns and poor motor control of stabilization muscles is often the culprit of chronic musculoskeletal pain (Hides et al., 1994; Hodges, 1996, 2001; Richardson, 2002; Hodges, 2003).
Research have demonstrated that poor motor control can be re-trained through corrective exercises (Richardson & Jull, 1995; Hodges, 1999; Hodges & Gandevia, 2000; McGill, 2003, 2004).
Scientific evidence supports the effectiveness of physiotherapy exercise programs in the treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions. |

Our Approach to Physiotherapy |
|
| |
|
|
| |
At Performance Care, we incorporate physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises as part of our multidisciplinary approach to health care.
Physiotherapists can help manage acute sport injuries, minimize delay onset muscle soreness from training, provide advice on general strengthening, and prescribe sports specific conditioning exercise programs.
It is our goal to provide the best care possible in order to maximize treatment outcome. |
